The Design Hero projects are a series of projects I did in the spring semester of 2024, focused around a “design hero” -- a designer whose work we admired. I chose Kiel Mutschelknaus, a programmer/motion designer. We were then tasked with making a poster, a 16 page booklet, a website, a motion graphics video in After Effects, and a mobile experience, each reflecting the work of our hero and the narrative of their career.
The booklet explores Mutschelknaus's life and early career, exploring how he came into the specific niche of design he now occupies. It references more of his graphic design and branded projects. The spreads were designed to be explosive and dynamic, giving the impression that the elements of the page were interacting physically with each other.
