The Design Hero projects are a series of projects I did in the spring semester of 2024, focused around a “design hero” -- a designer whose work we admired. I chose Kiel Mutschelknaus, a programmer/motion designer. We were then tasked with making a poster, a 16 page booklet, a website, a motion graphics video in After Effects, and a mobile experience, each reflecting the work of our hero and the narrative of their career.

I was heavily inspired by Mutschelknaus’s Space Type Generator website, and I referenced several generators in the making of this video. The narration is taken from an interview he did at Parsons School of Design. The music is a cover of Alto’s Adventure: The Spirit of the Mountain, arranged by me with an online MIDI sequencer.
